Shawn, with over 20 years of technology infrastructure experience, security, and small/medium business operation, has an intimate understanding for the need of properly managed, state of the art, technology solutions. Shawn holds various industry certifications and continues his education on security, cloud services, business productivity software, collaboration systems, information availability, virtualization platforms, and business analytics. Shawn has developed and implemented turn-key business technology systems that dynamically adapt to the specific needs of each business.
Shawn is a versatile business executive with a background in the development of innovative and performance enhancing technology. Shawn brings a proven ability to capitalize on existing technologies and acquire cost effective, scalable, enterprise technologies, producing substantial improvements in operating efficiency and profitability. Throughout his career, Shawn has attempted to invigorate business capacity through global application of technology integrations, empowering organizations and increasing executive efficacy through a reduction in the dependence on middle management. Shawn is a pragmatic visionary and usability expert of innovative adaptable solutions, fusing proven technology with the unique goals and needs of any organization.
Director of Managed Services
With 20 years of experience in systems administration and managed services, Tom brings a wealth of skills and resources to our team. Tom has spent a majority of these years focused on education and non-profit support and service delivery. With specialties and certifications in virtualization and asset management, Tom will assist in the refinement of our services as well as the development of additional systems and solutions that will allow us to offer a greater value to our clients.
Dave has over 18 years of experience serving as a Network Administrator, Operations management, and Help Desk expert. Specializing in customer relations, and end user support. With his expertise in technology and the gift of gab he is an asset to all clients and end users. When looking for technical explanations or details, it is explained in a way that just make sense that all users can understand. Using tactical verbiage Dave is able to work with any client to get the desired resolutions for the issue at hand.
He also likes long walks on the beach! – Dave also likes to snowboard, play basketball and enjoy nature walks.
Jim has 20 years’ experience in the IT field. Working at TRW, Northrup Grumman, and Booz Allen Hamilton. Jim has configured, deployed and supported Microsoft networking solutions for many differing clients and end users, supporting Windows domains, SQL, Web, Exchange, and File servers, along with Windows desktops. Jim has worked with VMware and various backup solutions to maximize the client’s IT infrastructure and secure backup requirements.
Application and Hardware Engineering
Evangelos Benechoutsos is a R&D Prototyping IT Engineer at Avid Practice. From 2002-2009 with Chapter5 in Athens, Greece, he served as a below-the-line marketing account manager for a variety of international companies. Evan has been contracted from 2009-2018 to help organizations with product design, manufacturing processes, system-level electrical design and integration, for consumer and military products Now, he is developing the next generation of products and services offered by Avid Practice.
Evan believes that technology should be a non-intrusive augmentation to our lives and aims to develop advancements that help humanity enjoy a symbiotic relationship with technology. He is a strong supporter of distributed, open source software, that allows everyone to contribute towards advancement in this field. In his free time, he stays up to date with emerging technologies and enjoys dinners and hikes with his wife and dog.
Evan holds a B. Sc in Electrical Engineering from Piraeus University of Applied Sciences in Greece, A B. Sc in Marketing from Wilmington University DE, and a M. Sc in Information Assurance from Wilmington University DE.
Consultant and Operations
Steven is an experienced corporate executive, driving organizations to succeed by linking accounting and finance to business operations. After graduating from The George Washington University with a BA in Finance, Steven co-founded Bio Science Contracting Production Corp, a pharmaceutical manufacturer. As President and COO, he grew the company to over thirty-six million dollars in revenue before it was sold to Cambrex Corp in 2001.
In 2002, he became CEO of Lee’s Ice Cream, a challenger brand in a highly competitive market segment. Between 2002 and 2009, Steven oversaw growth of sales from one to over five million dollars. He then negotiated the sale of Lee’s to Gifford’s Ice Cream. From 2009-2013, he owned and managed the ZYZYX! Peace Love Shop jewelry store.
Now with Avid Practice, Steven improves and standardizes business operations, in addition to managing finances. He has been known to work on the occasional IT setup when a client project needs some extra hands.
